Dilijan, June 4th, 2025 – The German-Armenian Fund (GAF), in strategic partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB), is proud to announce the successful completion of a climate risk management and reporting capacity-building workshop held on June 3-4, 2025, in CBA Dilijan Training Center. This event is part of the Greening Financial Systems (GFS) Technical Assistance Programme, designed to strengthen the resilience of financial sector in the face of climate-related financial risks.
Over 40 participants from GAF, the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), and 18 partner financial institutions (PFIs) gathered for two days of intensive training aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills related to climate risk assessment, and the integration of climate considerations into financial decision-making.
The programme also provided valuable hands-on experience in areas such as climate scenario analysis, application of heat maps, and implementation of reporting standards in line with global frameworks, such as the IFRS S2.
The GFS TAP to GAF included several other components, including:
• Identification of Green Finance Market Opportunities
• Development of a Green Finance Framework for the utilization of the Armenian Economic Resilience Facility (AERF)
• Advancing Understanding and Management of Climate-Related Risks
• Knowledge Hub-related Capacity-Building and Awareness-Raising in Green Finance and Climate Risk Management for GAF
In addition to the capacity-building event, the GFS Programme continues to foster collaboration among Armenian financial institutions, providing peer learning and technical assistance. This engagement aims to ensure that Armenia’s financial sector is well-positioned to support the transition to a greener, more sustainable economy.
This initiative underscores the German-Armenian Fund’s leadership in embedding sustainability within the country’s financial landscape and reinforces the EIB’s mission to accelerate climate action across Europe and globally.
