On October 27, 2025, the "Promotion of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency" loan program phase VII financed by KfW and implemented by the German Armenian Fund was launched.
The Program is being implemented within the framework of the Loan Agreement signed between the Central Bank of Armenia and the German Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) on December 11, 2024 with total volume of EUR 26 million.
The loan funds will be directed to Armenian SMEs and individuals for financing renewable energy projects, particularly, solar power plants construction, acquiring battery energy storage system (BESS) as well as to SMEs’ energy efficient investments. The disbursment of credit resources to the final beneficiaries will be implemented via partner financial institutions selected within the framework of the program.
The loan program will be accompanied by the technical assistance, aimed at the assessment of solar power plants construction and BESS projects in accordance with international standards, as well as capacity building and development for energy efficient measures identification and assessment.
The grant funds for technical assistance accompanying the “Promotion of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency Phase V” program are provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.
